Wednesday was a very long but nice day. For me it started at about 3 am and ended just before 11 pm. Mike and I were joined by fifteen others, all family or friends of Jiajing’s parents. We drove for almost three hours to another city where there is found a very well preserved ancient city wall and a related museum. (As I write this I have only the Chinese characters that name the city and places we visited.)

View of the top of the wall that extends around a portion of the current city that was the original city.

After spending time at the wall and learning about its history we went to have lunch at a place located within a garden area.

The restaurant and garden was located next to a pond.

After eating we went to a nearby museum to hear some Asian music and look at some relics that were found in a dig in the area.

The musical instruments were similar to those we heard at the museum in Wuhan.

From the museum we left for Wuhan. Some of us continued on to Jiajing’s parents’ home where we were met by additional family members and a great meal they had preparing while we were gone. We finished eating and talking around 9:45. We were taken home and crawled into bed at about 11 pm after spending a fabulous day with people of another culture learning about cultural things. It was a very meaningful time. Mike and I so appreciate and offer a big thanks for those who made this day so special.
