Much of the area being used for the pedestrian walk was occupied by the poor. Developers simply come in and push them out and use the land. The value of the land is not worth much as seen in picture one. Imagine that you are the woman doing your laundry there in the street and yet you think you deserve more things and nicer things. Take a good look at her and imagine what God is thinking about you and all the things you have and don’t use, but yet you had to have them.

People used to live and work in the location of picture 2. Imagine living in that four story building in the winter, like this last one, when it was below freezing for three weeks. It was below freezing inside also. Notice the high rises in the background.

The people are sent away and the buildings are leveled, to make room for some that will rise 25 stories or more.

The buildings of picture four are within several hundred feet of the area shown in picture three.

All this development and all this modernization is why your gas is going up and will continue to go up. You really don’t need a car here, but fallen human nature thinks that owning a car is a good thing. The streets are too crowded and there is no place to park it. It is just one more thing to pay for and care for and they think they need one. I really enjoy walking and riding the bus. It adds real spice to life.
