David called Friday evening and told me he would pick me up at seven in the morning; we were going flying in an old plane built in 1946. – More on that with some very cool pictures in a future blog. – Saturday morning came and we got in a couple of hours of flying and then headed back to his house to put in one last day of hard work. This would be my last day before heading back to Texas so we had to make it count.
David went to work on the skirting around the deck and I put my hand to the end of a shovel and continued to build forms for a new sidewalk. By the end of the day we were both tired but the results were great. The deck was beautiful.
Even the stairs finished off nice.
Except for one small piece by the driveway and the section in front of the stairs, the forms are done. It was planned to do that later.
As seen from 1500 feet, here is a picture of the house early Saturday morning.
There was time for one more as we flew around the end and headed on south for more great shots. Be sure not to miss the flying series.
David plans to do the south end this fall.
I was asked if I would come back next summer and help on the back side of the house.
David’s brother John asked if I could help build an addition on his house next summer. Sounds like next summer could be a busy summer.
