Saturday was a very busy day. David and I began by going to Lowe’s to pick up the flooring for the deck. They reduced the price for what we wanted and since they didn’t have very much in stock we felt it was wise to get what we needed now. When we returned with our flooring, we got our tools out and went to work on the deck frame.
We got off to a slow start as we learned how to work together on this kind of project. We built the frame around the outside and then realized that the lumber company gave us some wrong size joist hangers. David went back and got the correct size and while he was gone I rolled up my sleeves and went to work and cut the remaining floor joist and started putting them in place. David soon returned with the correct hangers and in a short while we were done.
Since it was Saturday afternoon, we decided to quit early. We picked up our tools and took some pictures and called it a week of good accomplishment.
