The blocks that were delivered in
the last blog entry have been used up and more are on the way.
The patio walls are finished along
with the south wall containing the opening for the window. The wall under the
house is almost done, but there is a problem. There is supposed to be a header
above the door to support some floor joists. The block layer will have to make
a correction.
Enough blocks came to finish the
basement. For a little extra spending money, Jon convinced two of the block
layers to roll on the tar saving him a dirty job.

Notice the header over the door opening.
View of basement from the north. The
basement still needs a concrete floor and the garage is to be done.
Looking down into the basement the
three girls look so small. This space will become their schoolroom. They and
their brother are home schooled by their mom.
The next step is to dig for the
garage footers, put in their forms, pour the concrete, and lay up the walls.
That will be our next issue.
