A Day at the Falls

On Monday, June 14, we headed off to Niagara Falls for an exciting time. The family farm, where we were staying, is less than an hour drive away from the falls. We went on line and purchased a package, so we were all set. Our first adventure was to ride the Maid of the Midst up to the Horseshoe Falls. Here I am nearing the end of my life and I had never taken that ride.

Here we go!

That little dark spot is the boat. The breeze was just right that we were covered with mist; at times a downpour, so our cameras were not out taking pictures. Being up close to the falls was an experience; the power you felt as the water plummeted into the gorge.

The American falls with the Horseshoe falls in the background. You can get real close to the American falls, which we did next.

The deck goes back to the falls and if you walk back your heart rate increases.

If you feel the urge to smoke, don’t, because there is a NO SMOKING sign.

Mom and daughter were checking their pictures.

We had our noon meal at the falls. We rode from place to place on the trolley, which added fun to our day. We finished up the day with the 40 minute movie on the falls and headed home. Our package had five events in it and we did three. The other two were designed for children. Since we had four tickets we took them home for others to use later this summer.
