A Winter Scene

We were preparing to sit down to our evening meal when the door chimes sounded, directing out attention to the front door. Connie got there first – actually the rest of us never moved off the starting line – and to her delight found this little house being delivered from the snowy Christmas winter wonderland of Michigan. Our son Mike had a local florist deliver it to us for Christmas.

Notice the family looking out the front window. I wonder who got the job of shoveling the sidewalk.

We placed the little house on our table, gave thanks to our Lord, and enjoyed our evening meal.

Earlier in the day, as we stood at one of our windows, the scene was quite different from the one seen from the window of the little house. Instead of the clean white fluffy snow our view was of bare brown dry cold ground and our neighbor’s two horses having brunch. Jiajing had to go out for a closer view and I had to get a picture of the event.

The little house and the two horses along with other experiences continue to add to Jiajing’s memories of life in America as we form memories of her living with us during her Christmas break from university life.
