Grasslands

As I think about my China experiences the trip, in July of 2007, to the northeastern part of Inner Mongolia comes to mind. It was such open and beautiful country as seen in the picture below.

It was mainly open range land with livestock keeping the sides of the roads trimmed.

It is a place where life is hard with long cold winters. There isn’t much more than just the basics of life.

We stopped at one of the villages shown in the video at the bottom of the page. One sure does not have many worldly possessions here.

Their houses may be small and simple and they may not have many things, but they can have a good time. They provided music and encouraged us to dance some. We had a great time of fellowship with this Russian family.

It is a life that is so different than anything I have experienced before and points out how few things we really need. Is it things or relationships that are important?
