Since I had already posted the Mr.
Mai’s story, this last canal entry is out of order.
Underneath the Chinese roof is an
enormous LED screen. It fills the whole space and is not lacking on brightness.
It is used as an outdoor theater during the daytime. Most billboards are like
this over here. That technology has not caught on in the states yet. Some
street signs are even that way here.
Here we come to another bridge and a
very strange building.
You think this buuilding looks
strange in the daytime; you should see it at night when the lights are on
inside.
This is the last bridge across the
canal; different.
Finally we have walked the length
and are at the smaller lake.
Here is the six lane bridge that
goes across the smaller lake. At this point I am about two thirds the way
across. Back there in the haze is where the project is. Most of the haze is
from burning rice fields and is a serious problem every fall. On a bad day you
can’t even see the buildings over there. The brownish color stone down the
walkway is for blind people to follow. It is very hard to walk on.
Tearing down old buildings, digging
the canal, building all the bridges and new road, installing the park type
walkway and all the buildings across the canal cost a bundle, but this is just
the tip of the iceberg. It is nothing to level a mile or more of city to build
a modern city in its place. There seems to be no end to money here where in
America there seems to be no end to debt. We seem to be doing something wrong
and that blame I place squarely on the shoulders of Christians (2 Chronicles
7:14). We possess God given resources that we haven’t been using and as a
result we live like the world and it is headed toward judgment. Don’t forget
the Judgment Seat of Christ is coming up for believers.
