Canal Project - 3

As we continue our tour, we leave the workers at their task of building boulders, we continue down the walkway toward another bridge. This is a double decker with street traffic on the lower level and high speed through traffic on the second level. To handle the traffic in our intercity some of the streets have a street built above.

On the south side of the canal are more buildings, a large walkway and then another row of buildings. As you can see much money was spent here. They have to spend those extra American trade dollars on something.

Let us sit for a while and watch the boats go by. The fence is made of metal because wood is scarce and plastics require petroleum to manufacture. The tree is on life support and the flowers are giving their encouragement.

A closer view of the bridge shown above looks nice now, but give it six months or a year in this dirty environment and it will soon look different.

There is that second row of buildings.

There goes one of those sightseeing boats. I wonder what it costs to ride one.

Down at this end there weren’t so many people and it is also early in the morning. The walkway just opened with only a few stores ready to open. These are just sight seers like me.

My plans were to finish here, but I still have six pictures to show.
